Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Echo, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Echo. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Echo.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Echo. By using Echo you represent that you are at least 13. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent. Echo is not directed at children under 13 and we will delete accounts found to be held by children under 13.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may not share your account with others or impersonate another person.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

When using Echo you agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, defamatory, or constitutes harassment, hate speech, or targeted abuse.
• Post content that sexually exploits or endangers minors (CSAM). Such content will be reported to NCMEC and relevant authorities.
• Spam, phish, or distribute malware.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Echo's systems or other users' accounts.
• Scrape or bulk-download Echo content without written permission.
• Use Echo to coordinate violence or terrorism.
• Impersonate Echo, its employees, or other users in a misleading way.
• Circumvent or reverse-engineer Echo's rate limits, security features, or invite gating.

5. Content ownership and license

You own your content. Posts, messages, and media you create on Echo remain your intellectual property.

By posting content on Echo, you grant Echo a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating Echo's service (e.g., showing your posts to people you have chosen to share them with). This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

Echo does not claim ownership of your content and does not use your content to train AI models or sell advertising.

6. Moderation and enforcement

Echo may remove content, warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these terms or Echo's community guidelines. Decisions are made by Echo's moderation team and, where appropriate, reviewed by a senior moderator.

You may appeal a moderation action by contacting [email protected] within 30 days of the action. Echo will review appeals and respond within 14 days.

7. Circles and private spaces

Circles are invite-only private spaces within Echo. Circle owners and admins are responsible for moderating their circles in accordance with these terms. Echo may act on content in private circles in response to valid reports or legal obligations.

8. Echo+ subscription and tipping

Echo offers an optional paid subscription (Echo+) and a creator tipping feature, both processed by Stripe. Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. Echo reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

Tips are voluntary payments from one user to another. Echo deducts a small platform fee to support infrastructure. Tips are non-refundable once processed except in cases of unauthorized transactions.

9. Cosmetics and virtual items

Cosmetic items (profile frames, animated avatars, circle themes) purchased in the Echo shop are non-transferable and have no monetary value outside Echo. Echo may modify or discontinue cosmetic items with reasonable notice. Purchased cosmetics will remain in your inventory for the life of your account.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Echo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Echo does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be permanently preserved.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Echo's liability for any claim arising out of your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid Echo in the 12 months preceding the claim. Echo is not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

13. Changes to these terms

Echo will notify you of material changes to these terms via an in-app notification at least 30 days before changes take effect. Continued use of Echo after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may delete your account before the effective date.
